Family:  Polycentridae (Leaffishes)
Max. size:  5.5 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; brackish; pH range: 6 - 7; dH range: 18 - 20
Distribution:  South America: Trinidad (W.I.), and Atlantic coastal rivers of Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana and Brazil (state of Amapá).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits clear and turbid water, often brackish water (Ref. 11225). Feeds on worms, insects and fish (Ref. 7020).

Threat to humans:  harmless
