Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; pH range: 6 - 7.5; dH range: 20
Distribution:  South America: southern Brazil to La Plata region (Argentina), usually clearwater streams.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Aquarium specimens reach 8.0 cm TL (Ref. 1672).
