Diagnosis:  This species is distinguished by the following characters: no lateral color stripe; body slender, its depth 19.4-21.7 % SL; dorsal fin branched rays 7; anal fin branched rays 5; snout short (26.1- 28.6 % HL); head deep (HD 58.4- 62.2 % HL) (Ref. 132412).
