Distribution:  Asia: Nam Theun of the Mekong basin in Laos.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 13-13; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 15-15. Having last simple dorsal and anal rays strong and stiff (but not a spine); 11 branched dorsal rays; 13 branched anal rays; 32-33+1-2=33-35 scales in longitudinal series; predorsal fin profile of males slightly concave; pelvic, dorsal and anal fins of males with narrow black distal margins; very narrow stripe along the posterior side of males (Ref. 27732); and long ovipositor present in front of anal fin of females (Ref. 43281).
