Family:  Agonidae (Poachers), subfamily: Agoninae
Max. size:  25 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 20 - 460 m
Distribution:  North Pacific: Bering Sea to southeastern Alaska. Also reported from northern Japan, the Sea of Japan and the Okhotsk (Ref. 559).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 6-9; Dorsal soft rays (total): 6-8; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 6-8; Vertebrae: 43-45. Snout pointed, with a pair of barbels on its ventral surface; free nasal margin smooth; branchial membranes fused with isthmus (Ref. 559).
