| Biology: | Prefers large, deep pools in clear streams. Feeds mainly on insects from the surface waters. Breeds in summer, males congregating in a nuptial school over vertical rock surfaces in flowing water. Closely related to the Twee River redfin Barbus erubescens (Ref. 7248). | |||
