Family:  Apogonidae (Cardinalfishes), subfamily: Apogoninae
Max. size:  4.5 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 5 - 25 m
Distribution:  Western Pacific: Philippines to Indonesia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 8-8; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 8-8. Grey of brown blotched pattern with white interspaces and spots (Ref. 48635). Description: Characterized by having complete lateral line with 17-23 tubed scales; pattern of scattered dark brown dots on light organ; greatest depth of body 2.7-3.3 in SL (Ref. 90102).
Biology:  Found in coastal, silty habitat on reefs amongst branching corals or with long-spined urchins, in depths to at least 15 m (Ref. 48635).
