Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; pH range: 6 - 8; dH range: 5 - 19
Distribution:  Asia: India and Bangladesh.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits pools, ditches, inundated fields, ponds and beels (Ref. 1479). Occurs in rivers and lakes with vegetation (Ref. 41236). Aquarium keeping: minimum aquarium size 60 cm (Ref. 51539).
