Distribution:  Asia and Oceania: Ramu and Sepik rivers in Papua New Guinea and Mamberamo River in Irian Jaya, Indonesia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 12-14; Anal soft rays: 12-13
Biology:  Occurs in lakes and backwaters to river channels, and lower sections of tributary streams. Caught using harpoons, hand nets, and scoop nets.
