Environment:  demersal; freshwater; pH range: 6.59999990463257 - 7.19999980926514; dH range: 18
Distribution:  Asia: Muar drainage in southern Malay Peninsula, Malaysia (Ref. 33074) and Kapuas basin in western Borneo, Indonesia (Ref. 2091).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 1-1; Dorsal soft rays (total): 6-6; Anal soft rays: 21-22; Vertebrae: 37-38. Presence of serrae on distal three quarters of anterior edge of pectoral spine; body depth at anus 19.2-19.4% SL; black margin of dorsal fin present; eye diameter 19.7-22.7% HL; and length of adipose-fin base 15.6-15.7% SL.
Biology:  Inhabits peat and streams (Ref. 84801). Occasionally seen in aquarium trades (Ref. 57235).
