Family:  Microdesmidae (Wormfishes), subfamily: Ptereleotrinae
Max. size:  4 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; brackish; marine; depth range 0 - 5 m
Distribution:  Western Pacific: Japan (Ref. 559) and South Korea (Ref. 77001). Reported from New Caledonia (Ref. 11889).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits inlet waters and estuaries of rivers.

Threat to humans:  harmless
Country info:  Reported from Sharp Island, Hoi Ha Wan (Ref. 94637); Cape D'Aguilar, and Tung Ping Chau (Ref. 129329). Patchily distributed in shallow waters (Ref. 128523). The species was observed on 11 to 100 occasions during 400 dive surveys on artificial reefs (Ref. 119494). Also Ref. 119714, 125586.
