Max. size:  19.5 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater, amphidromous
Distribution:  Asia: Mahanadi river system in Orissa and Madhya Pradesh, India.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs in rivers and large streams (Ref. 41236). Spawning occurs during the monsoon months (Ref. 4833).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 21 September 2010 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
Country info:  Known from Mahanadi river and its tributaries in Orissa and Madhya Pradesh. Caught in large quantities in the Mahanadi river (Ref. 4833). Also Ref. 31807, 41236, 45255.
