Distribution:  Central America: Atlantic slope, in the Coatzacoalcos River drainage, Mexico.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits fast flowing water of the montane environment. Feeds on algae and aufwuchs.

Country info:  Endemic to the upper reaches of the Rio Coatzocoalcos basin in the rivers Rio Almoloya, Rio Jaltepec, Rio Malotengo and Rio Sarabia (Ref. 7335). Also Ref. 36377.
