Max. size:  13 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; brackish; pH range: 8, potamodromous
Distribution:  Asia: Pakistan, India, Nepal, Bangladesh (Ref. 41236), Afghanistan (Ref. 41034), Sri Lanka (Ref. 6028) and Myanmar (Ref. 43640).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Adults occur in ponds, weedy ditches (Ref. 4832) and irrigation canals (Ref. 41236).

Threat to humans:  harmless
Country info:  Occurs in the Terai and Hills zones at altitudes of 76-1350 m. Also found in Bagmati, Kali Gandaki, Karnali and Pokhara lakes (Ref. 40948). Also Ref. 4832, 41236, 43640, 43638, 85713.
