Family:  Nemacheilidae (Brook loaches)
Max. size:  7.3 cm TL (male/unsexed); max.weight: 3.5 g
Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Syria and Turkey (Ref. 92804). Reported from Iran (Ref. 94765).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits highland water courses (Ref. 26100).

Country info:  Type locality: Tchaiy-su, between Keyson (37°30'N, 37°50'E) and Gaziantep (37°00'N, 37°30'E), Turkey (Ref. 26282). Occurs in the Caysuyu Stream which runs into the River Ceyhan near Kayseri (Ref. 12259) and River Sarum tributary of the River Batman, Tigris river drainage (Ref. 31729); Euphrates river basin (Ref. 106151). Also Ref. 92804. nEurTurk. Status of threat: Extinct (Ref. 58342).
