Distribution:  Northwest Pacific: appears to be endemic in Japan.

Country info:  We were unable to locate the specimens reported by Zama and Fujita (1977) as M. woodsi Greenfield. From the meristic data of these two specimens and the illustration given by Zama and Fujita, we believe they are M. greenfieldi (Ref. 26066).
