Family:  Muraenidae (Moray eels), subfamily: Uropterygiinae
Max. size:  15.9 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 1 - 25 m
Distribution:  Western Pacific: tropical; restricted to the Caroline Islands, Solomon Is., New Caledonia, with easternmost record in the Tonga Is.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Most specimens were collected in shallow water on coral reefs and rocky areas along the shore, with one individual taken at a depth of 14 meters. Cyptic in habit and rarely seen except when collected using ichthyosides (Ref. 85321).
