Max. size:  40 cm FL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; marine; depth range 0 - 30 m
Distribution:  Southwest Pacific: Australia (including Lord Howe Island), Norfolk Island and New Zealand (including Kermadec Islands).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs inshore (Ref. 75154).
IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated (N.E.) Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
Country info:  Known from mainland New Zealand, the Kermadec Is. (Ref. 8879) and Norfolk Island (Ref. 45524). Voucher specimen(s) held at the NMNZ. Also Ref. 4537.
