| (Laba, 1979) Destroyed the native Orestias populations. Established in the high Andean streams and presence of a small stock in Lake Titicaca. The sturgeon trout could not adapt fully to the lake Titicaca, Everett (1972) reports that this trout only is common in the river llave (Peru). There are also reports of its presence in the rivers of the Cordillera del Tunari en Cochabamba and the South region "subandina" of the above mentioned department; it is utilized in recreational fisheries; the hatchery of Piusilla, Tunari, Cochabamba belonging to the Bolivian State, maintained breeders and samples of this species; the hatchery was sold to the private sector and at present no information is available for this hatchery. There are no commercial captures of this species in the lake Titicaca, Bolivian sector.
