Comments: Invaded shallow, densely vegetated lakes, fish ponds, canals and ditches. Displaced several species of limnophilous and stagophilous fishes. Prevention of further spread can only be achieved if the species is not accidentally introduced with fish used for re-stocking. Apart from prevention from new introductions, no effective methods have been elaborated to control the species (Ref. 55773). Reintroduced in 1990.
