Comments: | Accidentally released from aquaria and a single breeding population in Florida was eradicated by the cold spell in 1977. A popular aquarium fish, found in 95% of pet shops near Lakes Erie and Ontario (Ref. 53249). Florida records are the result of probable escapes from local ornamental fish farms (Ref. 4709).
