Comentarios Reintroduced in the 1960s. Accidentally released from aquaria and generally regarded as a pest (Ref. 1739). A decline in populations of native fishes in the San Gabriel River, California was attributed to an increase in O. mossambicus and a similar future impact on coastal marine species is predicted (Ref. 13364). Established in Florida, North Carolina, Arizona, Idaho, California and possibly Alabama; cultured in Georgia and Tennessee (Ref. 1739). Also Ref. 88.     Ref:  Lever, C., 1996
