Additional Characters | Egg capsule measures 52-67 mm in length and 23.5-27 mm in width (Ref. 56212). Egg capsules have two very long and tightly coiled tendrils set closely with each other at the base of the posterior ends. The anterior margin of the capsule is slightly concave, with a short inwardly curving horn of abour 3 mm length at each corner. A neckline constriction is located at about a third to two seventh of the length from the anterior end. Surface is entirely covered by numerous fine and weak longitudinal fibers. Lateral edge forming keel-like ridge, with fine longitudinal striations. Four respiratory fissures (two on each side) are present as grooves on anterior-left side and posterior-left side of the capsule. Capsule is opaque, khaki to yellowish to brownish, and probably darker after exposure to sea water. Color of the tendrils is blackish brown (Ref. 56212). |
