Comments: The conditions under which H. molitrix can reproduce are very strict. The temperature must range be between 17 and 25°C and the water must be deep and flowing at a speed of 0.7-1.4 m/sec. This way, the semi-pelagic eggs are taken into the current and are oxygenated during incubation (Ref. 30578).
