Épines dorsales (Total): 7. Differs from other Upeneus with 7-spined dorsal fin in generally having14 pectoral fin rays; 9 + 22-23 gill rakers; 29 - 30 lateral line scales; no information regarding teeth on ectopterygoid and color of peritoneum (Ref. 43139).
