Épines dorsales (Total): 0; Rayons mous dorsaux (Total): 5-7; Épines anales 0; Rayons mous anaux: 15 - 18. Color in life gray, yellow sheen above and a silvery luster along the sides; dusky stripe from upper angle of opercle to caudal base. Body laterally compressed.
Non-annual breeder. Is difficult to maintain in aquarium (Ref. 27139).
