Characterized by having branched anterior and posterior escal appendages; medial appendage long, unpigmented, highly branched and terminating in numerous filaments; well developed multiple anterolateral appendages and united at their bases; absence of indentation on posterodorsal margin of subopercle; length of ventral fork opercle 23.1% SL; ratio of lengths of dorsal and ventral forks of opercle 0.47; absence of epibranchial teeth; presence of teeth on pharyngobranchial II; upper jaw teeth 57, lower jaw teeth 53; teeth on vomer 6; dorsal fin rays 5; anal fin rays 4; pectoral fin rays 16; head length 31.1% SL; head width 21.0% SL; head depth 37.0% SL; premaxilla length 25.2% SL; lower jaw length 39.9% SL; illicium length 17.2% SL (Ref. 86949)
