Short description Morphology | Morphometrics

Deep body (body depth 11-13% TL versus 6-10) possessing very thin pale bands (less than 1/5 the width of the dark bands) with sharp (high contrast) margins. Bands are sinuous on the anterior half of the body, and extend clearly to the dorsal midline (Ref. 41292).

Biology     Glossary (e.g. epibenthic)

Facultative air-breathing in the genus (Ref. 126274); Oviparous (Ref. 205). Males provide parental care in nests excavated for larvae (Ref. 55570).

Estimates based on models

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82804):  PD50 = 0.5000   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.00437 (0.00209 - 0.00911), b=2.98 (2.79 - 3.17), in cm total length, based on LWR estimates for this (Sub)family-body shape (Ref. 93245).
Trophic level (Ref. 69278):  3.3   ±0.47 se; based on food items.
Resilience (Ref. 120179):  High, minimum population doubling time less than 15 months (Preliminary K or Fecundity.).
Fishing Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Low vulnerability (14 of 100).
