Mjukstrålar i ryggfenan (totalt): 9-10; Taggstrålar i analfenan 1; Mjukstrålar i analfenan: 13 - 14. Distinguished from its congeners by the combination of the following characters: mouth directed upwards; 35-38 scales in longitudinal row; ethmoid elongate; and 13-14 branched anal rays (Ref. 7304).
