Short description Morphology | Morphometrics

Dorsal spines (total): 7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9; Anal spines: 1; Anal soft rays: 8. This species has a characteristic coloration, pinkish when fresh (formed by very small dots of reddish chromatophores at the semi-transparent pale-yellow background) with tiny dark dots formed of dots of melanophores and with bright red-orange fins; developed anterior nostril; papillae of the head seismosensory system elevated as outgrowths; 9 branched rays in second dorsal fin; 8 branched rays in anal fin; 19 rays in pectoral fin; leathery keels along upper and lower margin of the caudal peduncle concealing procurrent rays of caudal fin (Ref. 83987).
