পৃষ্ঠীয় কাঁটা (মোট ): 12; পৃষ্ঠীয় নরম পাখনা দন্ড (মোট ): 19-20; পায়ূ কাঁটা 3; পায়ূর নরম পাখনা্তুন্ড: 7. Black with white crossbars, fading to grey with 4 white bars; lips, skin around mouth and pectorals pink in color (Ref. 2799).

Found on coral reefs (Ref. 9710) as well as in littoral pools (Ref. 5213). Solitary species (Ref. 2799).
