Espinhos dorsais (total) : 11 - 12; Raios dorsais moles (total) : 6 - 7; Espinhos anais: 10 - 12; Raios anais moles: 8 - 10. Distinguished from Parosphromenus bintan and P. deissneri in having the conspicuous black spot at the posterior extremity of the dorsal-fin base (vs. absence). Differs from P. bintan in having black pelvic fin filament (vs. white) (Ref. 56386).
