Épines dorsales (Total) : 19 - 20; Rayons mous dorsaux (Total) : 14 - 16; Épines anales: 2; Rayons mous anaux: 11 - 13; Vertèbres: 34. Spinescent gill rakers with 3 or 4 cusps. Lateral line branching from below the 5th to before the 6th spine of the first dorsal fin; the upper lateral line reaching at least to the end of the soft dorsal fin base.

Matures at about 10 cm standard length. A squid was found in the stomach of one specimen (Ref. 9784).
