Native to Ontario and Quebec; introduced into other provinces (Ref. 52559). Occurs in the Great Lakes (Ref. 119192). Generally restricted as a sport fish (Ref. 1998). A popular fish sold in live fish markets. Found in 2 out of 6 live fish markets near the Lakes Erie and Ontario (Ref. 53249). Also Ref. 5723, 86798.
