Type locality, off Vestmannaeyjar I., 560 m depth, NHMR (no catalogue number), (holotype of Apristurus laurussonii, 66.3 cm TL, mature female) (Ref. 53567). Canary Is., 1,365 m, ZMUB 3203 (holotype of A. atlanticus, 24.7 cm TL, immature male) (Ref. 27308). Two specimens collected from the eastern part of the archipelago, in 1,251-1,259 m depth (Ref. 26842). Also Ref. 244.
