Type locality of the holotype of Distichodus antonii: 'Bayari-sea' (Ref. 42496); corrected to 'Kinshasa, Stanley Pool', because, possibly, the widening of the Congo River channel at Pool Malebo [= Stanley Pool] has been called a 'sea' by the original collector (Ref. 96324). Known from Marine Lower Congo (Ref. 96324), Lower Congo (Ref. 96324), Pool Malebo (Ref. 1878, 96324), Middle Congo River (Ref. 1878, 96324), Kasai River (Ref. 96324), Lukenie River (Ref. 96324), Lake Mai Ndombe (Ref. 1878), Lake Tumba (Ref. 41580), Ruki River (Ref. 96324), Ubangui River (Ref.45441, 96324), Uele River (Ref. 96324), Itimbiri River (Ref. 106290), Aruwimi River (Ref. 96324), Lindi River (Ref. 96324), Lomami River (Ref. 96324), Wagenia Falls (Ref. 106245), Lualaba River (Ref. 45434, 96324) and Upper Lualaba River (Ref. 2970, 45434, 96324). It is absent from Luapula-Mweru (Ref. 7094, 96324); a report from 'Kasenga, Luapula', identified by Poll in 1959, is probably based on a labelling error and may originate from 'Kasenga, Lualaba' (Ref. 96324).
