Widely distributed in metroploitan France. Without doubt, it is the most popular fish caught in freshwater. It is the center of attraction during angling competitions. Caught with animal bait during cold season, with plant bait in summer. The flesh is bony but is well highly esteemed. Coomonly grown in ponds for restocking (Ref. 30578). Introduced in Brittany and in the south-west of France. Can be considered as ubiquist in France (Ref. 40476). Also Ref. 12108. |
