Known from O'ahu (Ref. 58302). In the 1960's this species used to be widespread in streams throughout Honolulu, including Moanalua, Kapâlama Canal, Nu'uanu and Mânoa Streams; can be extremely abundant where it occurs; the predominant species in the ponds and canals draining the Ala Moana Beach Park in Honolulu (Ref. 44091).
