Known throughout India except Assam, Kunthi river system, Kunthipuzha and the Himalaya (Ref. 45255). Reported to be endemic to the Western Ghats (Ref. 43640, 43641) and also recorded from Kunthi River, Silent Valley, Kerala (Ref. 41236). Vulnerable (Ref. 43640).
