Range extends up to the central part of the country with the recently collected specimen (UW 46575). Earlier record by Schultz (1936) and Alverson and Welander (1952) from Washinglon at Neah Bay was reidentified as Sebastes entomelas by Westrheim (1968). It has been observed that off SE Alaska, a high percentage of females captured by trawl surveys during early April were releasing larvae, indicating that parturition occurs in the springl; and during July in shallower waters of about 40 m, all specimens collected were immature (Ref. 53613).
