Found in the Limpopo and throughout the valley Zambezi systems but only penetrating onto the plateau in Matabeleland, in the Gwayi River and tributaries. In Mashonaland it occurs in the Mazowe tributaries of the Lower Zambezi system to the east of Harare. Also recorded from Lake Kariba (Ref. 58363). Also Ref. 7248.
