Known from Mekong basin (Ref. 30857). Found in Ban Hang Khone at Don Khone, 3 km below the fall line of the great waterfalls of the Mekong basin at Lee Pee (Ref. 9497). One of the most important migratory pangasiid species at Ban Hang Khone. Reproduction presumably takes place in or along the Mekong delta. Migratory fish generally have empty stomach. Enters the flooded forest and feeds on mak deua (Ref. 9497). Upstream the Khone Falls, it migrates upstream from May to September, dominated by fish in spawning condition (Ref. 37770). Above the Khone Falls, dowstream migration takes place in October (Ref. 37770). These migrations are triggered by the increase of the water levels above the Khone Falls (Ref. 37770). Also Ref. 37767, 43281.
