Known from Orkney Islands (Heldale Water, Hoy Island), Scotland (Loch Meallt, Isle of Skye). Considered extirpated on Orkney Islands since at least 1908, but no recent confirmation. This or a similar species has recently been found from Loch Meallt (Ref. 59043). Type locality: lake Hellyal, Hoy Island, Orkney islands (Ref. 13696).

Status of threat: data deficient (Ref. 59043).
