Probably endemic to Lika and Jadova drainages; presently found only in the Jadova near Ploca and Vrebac villages (Ref. 50603). Threatened due to increasing water abstraction and introduction of Squalius cephalus and Lepomis gibbosus (Ref. 59043). Also Ref. 50603, 78156.

Status of threat: Critically endangered (Ref. 119201).
