Restricted to clear and blackwater tributaries in the country's part of the Guiana Shield. It is most abundant in the Caroní River drainage, with most samples coming from the Claro and the Paragua rivers. It was found to be apparently absent from the lower Caura drainage (Ref. 57436). |
