Type locality, mouth of Kaeda River, just under Kisaki Oohashi (bridge for Route 220), Aoshima, Miyazaki, MUFS 22815 (holotype of Gerres akazakii, 16.9 cm SL, male). Known only from the Pacific coasts of Honshu I., Shikoku I., Kyushu I., and Tanega I. (Kagoshima), southern Japan (Ref. 58476). |
