Occurs in northern Australia, from Carnarvon in Western Australia to Bundaberg in Queensland (Ref. 6871). Commonly found in large numbers off northern Australia where it is caught with gillnets but is of limited commercial value due to its small size (Ref. 6871). Also Ref. 7300, 9997.
