Of primary importance to the Mexican shark fisheries; a common catch in Campeche (mostly juveniles), Yucatan, and Quintana Roo (mostly adults); rarely taken in Veracruz (mostly juveniles) and Tamaulipas; probably caught in Tabasco (Ref. 13186). Also reported from Bahai Magdalena, southern Baja California (Ref. 96339).
