Remarks: | Infestation commonly occurs in the intestine. Besides 1996 (Khanum et al.), the infestation was also reported to have occurred in 1997 (Ahmed and Ezaz) with no specific locality cited. This parasite is a stomach parasite of marine fishes, so this report likely involves a misidentification of the parasite. Gibson (1976) considered Gonocera crassa a probable synonym of Gonocera phycidis Manter (1925) (Ref. 42533). |
