Fish affected:    
Symptoms: Old fish has dark coloring, listless, eat less, cloudy eyes, deformities, and exhibits signs of fungal infections.  
Treatments: Separate the old fish in a separate aquarium to him from other fish. Secondary bacterial or fungal infection can sometimes be treated. Euthanasia may be the only solution to put the fish out of his misery.  
Prophylaxis:    
Remarks: Most fish live longer in captivity than in the wild. In an aquarium, the fish is protected from predators, competetion, food shortage, etc. , The old fish has trouble getting to his food and will eventualy be attacked, injured and be eaten by stronger and younger fish.
